Ghent played an important role at the time of Symbolism. Several authors from that time still enjoy great international fame. However, in Ghent and Flanders they seem to have been forgotten. T:mefestival wants to resurface this subconscious literary tradition. Ghent literature from the time of Symbolism becomes topical again.

Eva Cox, Benno Barnard, Hafid Bouazza, Bernard DewulfandIlja Leonard Pfeijffer choose poems van Ghent symbolists and give a personal interpretation to it. Authors such as Emile Verhaeren, Georges Rodenbach, Charles Van Lerberghe, Karel Van de Woestijne andMaurice Maeterlinck receive a current reading.
