Pere Ubu is the rock band that formed in 1975 around David Thomas. It is one of the most influential collectives in the post-punk movement of the late 1970s. And yet they never really made the transition to the mainstream music scene. It is even more to their credit that they still manage to release high-quality records such as 'Why I Hate Women' from 2006. The band members refuse to discuss or explain their enigmatic music. They attach more importance to the atmosphere of their concerts, the feeling, the drama, the energy and the imagination. If we want to describe it, we would call it a melting pot of experimental avant-garde and raw blues-oriented garage rock. Or just come and listen to it yourself in the HA'.
