Pascale Platel: 'C'est moi le monstre'

- DERNIÈRE -

Pascale Platel has already developed several music theater projects for the Ghent Festival of Flanders, including '…And the 7 Dwarfs' (2003) and 'Maria PasCallas' (2006).

In 2010 she focused on 'La belle et la bête' by Jean Cocteau. It is the starting point for a deadly serious fairy tale with iron laws and rules. The performance is about the difference between 'seeing and watching'.

FRAGMENT

Do you accept that I watch while you eat, Belle?< /em>
You are the master, Beast
There is no other master but you, Belle

Not in my eyes, Belle!
I'm ugly
I'll be honest his
I'm a monster, Belle

Slurp slurp slurp
Drink from my hands, Beast< /em>
Don't you find that disgusting, Belle?
No, I actually like it, it tickles.
slurp slurp slurp
You have a warm heart, Belle
slurp slurp slurp

Pardonnez-moi
Why?
< em>Parce que je suis un monstre

C'est moi le monstre, ma Bête, c'est moi le monstre...
