Could Beethoven ever have imagined that after 187 years his Diabelli Variations would become the catalyst for an explosion of sounds and images? The musicians of the ORCiM Ensemble present 'Unexpected Variations': an exciting concert result of creative artistic research at the Orpheus Institute.

Unpredictable trajectories, unimaginable relationships, unexpected variations… an exciting concert result of creative artistic research. Eight musicians will shed new light on historical, modern and contemporary compositions: a diversity of sounds, sounds, texts and images will surprise and seduce the audience from the first to the last moment. A selection from Beethoven's Diabelli Variations functions simultaneously as a common thread throughout the concert and as a springboard for surprising changes in direction. This creative explosion follows a year of intense exploration by artists who jointly explore new artistic horizons at the Orpheus Research Center in Music of the Orpheus Institute, Ghent.
