Ode to Darkness' is a sensual journey by the collective IJLLAND, using music and words as a safe bed for grief and vulnerability. Lying down with your eyes closed, you are transported to a place where darkness is given existence.

The project grew out of the personal experiences and observations of writer Lies Verswijvel (Magic in Motion) and musician Patricia Vanneste (Sohnarr, Driftwood, ex-Balthazar).

They see darkness as an essential and fundamental part of life and want to create space for emotions that are rarely allowed to be seen. A soothing scenography of handmade lamps and soft sounds creates a place of solace. For just as we cannot rush winter into spring, inner darkness can only be experienced with the necessary time and space.
