Muriel Anderson is one of the world's most virtuoso guitarists. She is the 'leading fingerstyle lady' of the moment. Anderson was the first woman to win the National Fingerpicking Guitar Championship and remains the only woman to hold the title.
She picked up the guitar before she was six and decided not to let it go. She learned every style she could and went on to study classical guitar at DePaul University. Muriel Anderson now teaches himself, composes music for guitar and orchestra, writes songs and solo compositions and is working on new work for guitar and cello. In 2006 she released the album 'Wildcat' and in 2007 the harp guitar album 'Harp Guitar Christmas' followed.
Her songs are a delight to the ear. This is guitar as you rarely hear it: subtle, refined and technically incredibly strong. When Muriel's wonderfully soft voice weaves between the guitar lines, every listener loses themselves in the Anderson universe. What a woman!
