Motion Trio

Remember the staggeringly beautiful but bizarre sound worlds that the Finnish virtuoso Kimmo Pohjonen conjured up on our stage from his electronically manipulated accordion, or think in the direction of our own freebooters DAAU: the performances of Motion Trio are also known for developing into musical events full of drama and action. With their accordions, these three enthusiastic Polish musicians know how to bridge the gap between their classical training and the traditional folk, jazz and rock music that they practiced as street musicians, among other things. They say they want to go further than traditional accordion playing and confront tradition with their surprising, sometimes extravagant music. They more than live up to their role as innovators on their latest CD Pictures From The Street, which sometimes sounds subdued and then intensely violent.
