The melodic meanders and warm clarinet sound of Mattias Laga, the honking and lyrical tenor sax sound of Michel Mast, the harmonic refinement of Walter Verschaeren's guitar parts, Xavier Verhelst's colorful, varied compositions and guitaristic approach as a bassist, the spicy dynamics and feeling for the right sound in the right place of drummer Tom De Wulf, they are all essential parts of WOFO. But WOFO is more than the sum of these and other parts: it is a close-knit group with its own identity, timbre, dynamics and style.

WOFO's music is like a stew with fresh classical ingredients, a good jazz, a Latin American herbal bouquet, funky creamy oil,... The united WOFO kitchen brigade prepares an original and tasty dish with these ingredients.

Wang Wei Quartet

Wang Wei is a Chinese poet and painter from the eighth century. Strongly inspired by his work, Emmanuel Baily founded the Wang Wei Quartet, a daring but successful gamble. The music reflects some of Wang Wei's most evocative poems. The quality of this group rests not only on the rich compositions, but also on the complementarity of the musicians.
