Mike Zito

Mike Zito is living proof of Friedrich Nietzsche's statement that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and was immersed in the grim sounds of the raw South of the US at an early age, unaware at the time that these would form the basis of his future in music. Nowadays he has tamed his demons, and he is coming to the Handelsbeurs!

Mike Zito is on tour with the work from his latest CD 'Pearl River'. A beautiful record in which you get a well-balanced mix of his influences Prince, Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Walter Trout, BB King, Buddy Guy, Danny Gatton, Stevie Ray Vaughn and why not, John Mayer, can find.
The result is a cheerful piece of Americana, served with piles of fat slices of New Orleans funk, gritty blues and old-fashioned rock 'n' roll.

Falling Man gnaws at the toes of common decency, and digs out his soul down to the raw flesh. There, swirling lava flows arise that slide down his bare back, hissing, until they solidify. Falling Man snorts, coughs and cuts fragments of madness from the air.
