In the hands of Miguel Ángel Cortés, the flamenco guitar is worth its weight in gold. Fiery Spanish, restrained powerful, passionately sensitive… Flamenco is a barrel full of emotions and this guitarist knows how to play them like no other. Cortés was born in 1972 and was introduced to the flamenco world as an eight-year-old boy through the famous Zambra. At the age of fourteen he accompanied great dancers such as Antonio Canales, Javier Barón and Juan Andrés Maya. He was also very useful as a singing accompanist from an early age. This is reflected in the collaborations with some of the greatest figures from 'Cante Flamenco' such as Jose de la Tomasa, José Merce, Chano Lobato and Luis Heredia “El Polaco”. In 1998 he proved with his solo CD 'Patriarca' that in addition to being an extremely musically skilled guitarist, he also has a nose for composition work. He recently completed his second solo CD, 'Bordón de trapo', produced by Gerardo Nuñes and with the collaboration of Carmen Linares, among others.
