"Time for something different", thought Stijn Meuris. And so, after Noordkaap, the singer is also giving up on his band Monza. Stijn continues solo as 'MEURIS' and that goes well. He is one of the most charismatic word artists in Flanders and will also demonstrate this on his first solo album 'Spectrum' (released April 4, 2010). 'Spectrum' has 12 Northern Cape and Monza songs that occasionally underwent drastic turnover. The hits, (at least most of them), but also a lot of songs that, according to Meuris, deserved more shine and that can finally be heard on 'SPECTRUM' as they were intended at the time. In addition, the adrenaline-dripping and brand new 'De Logica In Mij' and the unique duet 'Wat Een Fijne Dag/Het Zou Should Not Be' are also on the record. For that last song, Stijn and Raymond van Het Groenewoud tied their vocal cords together and sang an intimate, tender and moving duet. In January 2010, Stijn, together with strong> Ad Cominotto and a host of esteemed musicians, into the ICP studios in Ixelles. They came out again at the beginning of March. Tired, pale, a number of picks poorer, but an album of rock-solid material richer. MEURIS has finished recording 'Spectrum', his director's cut of the past, present and future.
The songs on 'Spectrum', supplemented with some other old songs from the North Cape and Monza period, can now also be admired live. In the theaters and cc's so beloved by Meuris, once again equipped with a beautiful lighting design and visuals. An absolute must for people who truly love live music and are not afraid of any emotion and energy...
