Mariana Cornejo

Anyone looking for a personification of zest for life and kindness cannot ignore Mariana Cornejo. This charming lady from Cádiz, southern Spain, was seen as a great promise in flamenco at a young age due to her versatile character. Several artists from Cádiz wanted to help Mariana move up, but her family saw no point in being an artist. In 1980, poet Antonio Murciano took her by the hand and a glorious career was born. In addition to her unique skill in the cantoara festera (festive genre), she also focuses on the cante jondo (deep singing). Mariana embodies the variety of a paella, the spice of a chili pepper and the sweet taste of Sangria.
