Maria Mendes

Maria Mendes

The Portuguese Maria Mendes combines a crystal-clear voice with vocal virtuosity. On the basis of her own cultural heritage she creates a playful mix of bossa nova, fado and jazz.

Backed by a quartet of Dutch jazz musicians, she sings Portuguese songs that bring her back to her youth.
