Loney Dear already has five albums to his name, full of light and warm pop tunes that fluctuate between cheerfulness and melancholy, all recorded in an original and artisanal way. .
Emil Svanängen, the driving force behind this Swedish formation, clearly does not like to sit still and recently released his sixth long player Hall Music, on which he explores dark atmospheres with electronic music. Devilish, rhythmic and symphonic songs are linked together and given an eighties touch. A fairly ambitious album, influenced by his recent collaborations with various chamber orchestras. The warm 'bedroom sound' of yesteryear has made way for grand arrangements, without losing sight of the song. Small folk tunes build up steadily, layer by layer, in which all sorts of things happen. Ansatz Der Maschine is originally started as a one-off project by sound technicians Mathijs BertelandAlexander Baert. In the meantime, the Kortrijk group has already grown into a brilliant 8-piece live band. Together they bring a smooth mix of clicks 'n cuts and acoustic sounds, distilled from everyday life and processed in every possible way into fascinating beats and magical melodies.
