The rising star of the Irish pianist Llŷr Williams should not be denied to the Belgian audience either. He was born in 1976 and has been playing the piano since he was five. He has a seemingly intuitive sense of dynamics and emotional content, coupled with a spectacular and fluid technique. In 2008, the critics' praise was bursting at the seams. According to The Times, 2008 was the year of “the Welsh pianist with magic in his fingers.” Of his interpretation of Beethoven, The Herald wrote: “Williams is a particularly lively pianist who has the gift of presenting familiar works in a new and convincing light.” In 2004, as an emerging young talent, he received a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award and two documentaries were made about him for Irish television. Our expectations are already high.
