Lieven Tavernier & Room 13 Orchestra
Lieven Tavernier. If you don't know the man, you know his lyrics. And that's how he likes it. Well-known gems such as 'First Snow', 'The Fanfare of Hunger and Thirst' and 'The Vanished Caravan' flowed from his pen. As king of intimate melancholy, he presents fourteen new songs, arranged for a classical orchestra.
Lieven Tavernier and his friends
Over the years, Tavernier liked to lend his songs to artists ranging from Jan De Wilde to Thé Lau, Gabriel Rios, Raymond van het Groenewoud, Roland, Stef Kamil Carlens, Jean-Marie Aerts, De Dijk, The Bony King, rapper Froze, and others. Even Remco Campert lent his beautiful voice to 'Last Train to M. '
Tavernier thought it was fine that his songs became known through others and not through him. This way he could work in peace, out of the spotlight, on six CDs so far.
In the Handelsbeurs
After concerts with An Pierlé's White Velvet, the forty-piece United Brass Band and his own group De Zondaars, Tavernier returns to the Handelsbeurs as a good friend.
