Lieven Tavernier

In 2006, the Ghent grand artist Lieven Tavernier effortlessly filled the Handelsbeurs for an overwhelming concert. The HA' ticket printers were already extra oiled, because two years later Tavernier is back! His brand new fourth CD, 'Wind & Smoke', was recorded in three days on a simple tape recorder, in the living room of producer Nils De Caster. It creates a particularly authentic framework around Tavernier's soft, honest voice. As usual, the texts draw their great power from their simplicity. Lieven Tavernier became known in Flanders when Jan De Wilde reached the charts in the early 1990s with three of his songs, including De Eerste Sneeuw. Although he is generally sparing with live performances, Lieven Tavernier simply cannot deprive his audience of a concert with these catchy songs. Because live they grab the throat even more...

Bleit songs for whiners, curse songs for darlings. Sometimes hard for herself and for others, sometimes soft and painfully honest, but above all always (self) relativizing and full of humor. After pocketing the NCRV Prize (2005) and the NEDERPOP PRIZE (2007), the Belgian press also responded: "It is impossible not to be moved by a girl who utters such a beautiful, vulnerable sentence as 'I I am so much more beautiful when you sing 'turn out the light'. (BS – De Morgen). On December 1, 2007, Hannelore and co won the 2007-2008 NEKKA competition. Hannelore was therefore - together with Ramses Shaffy, Raymond van het Groenewoud, Hugo MatthysenandRonny Mosuse - a guest of Bart Peeters at the NEKKA-NACHT 2008 in the Antwerp Sports Palace. The release of the full CD is scheduled for September 2008.
