Liesa Van der Aa: 'Easy Alice' (albumrelease)

Eclectic funk

Due to the corona pandemic, this concert was moved to this date. However, this may still change. Ticket holders will be informed of this in a timely manner.

Eclectic funk

Easy Alice, that is a record and also a movie. It is a story and also a fragment, complex and at the same time relevant contemporary contrarian. Easy access, or not.

Liesa Van der Aa went in the Handelsbeurs is already working on the music theater PLAY and  the monumental The Weighing of the Heart.

Easy Alice sounds like eclectic funk, like a kaleidoscopic encounter between Kafka and Britney Spears, a conversation between PJ Harvey and Eminem, a duet between Bill Withers and Missy Elliot.

The short film
Be careful, the film will no longer be shown due to the adjustments surrounding corona screened.

For the visual part of the record, Van der Aa joins forces with rapper, singer and filmmaker Baloji. This fictional art documentary takes you to a world in confusion, full of racing cars, Walt Disney, Wittgenstein and Instagram Buddhism, all within a soft pornographic setting.

Iconic interviews with David Bowie, among others. Pasolini, Leonard Cohen and John Cage were taken out of context and rewritten and performed as new voices of today. As if nothing ever really changes. Or nothing ever really stays the same.
