BARTÓK TOUR ACROSS THREE CITIES
Spread out over three nights in three cities – Antwerp, Ghent and Bruges – infamous piano teacher and creative director of the Antwerp Conservatory, Levente Kende plays the complete piano works of progressive Hungarian composer Béla Bartók. Partly Hungarian himself, Levente became familiar with Bartók’s work during his upbringing in Hungary, where he started to learn the 153 ‘songs’ that compose Mikrokosmos, Bartók’s most renowned work.
In this second instalment of the series, Levente pursues his efforts to breathe new life into these ageless compositions, highlighting their unique character and inexhaustible ingenuity. Fans of Bartók cannot miss out on this truly unique event.
The third and last instalment of the concert takes place on 21.04.2013 at 10.30 am in Concertgebouw Brugge (Bruges) (www.concertgebouw.be).
