Kristin Hersh

Kristin Hersh made a name for herself as the frontwoman of Throwing Muses, an alternative rock band that also featured Tanya Donelly. Hersh made the group great through her exceptional writing talent.

Also solo, she gives her songs everything they need. The song “Your Ghost” became a big hit worldwide. Kristin Hersh is not only a great songwriter, she is also a wonderful singer. There is a wonderfully raw layer of varnish on her soft voice. Hersh knows how to touch every listener with drama and melancholy; with a pinch of gunpowder she continues to surprise at the same time.

Support: The McCarricks

The McCarricks met in 1996 in Kansas. Kimberley was then a professional violinist in the Kansas Symphony Orchestra, while Martin worked as a guitarist and electric cellist with Therapy? toured. Previously, Martin worked as a musician and songwriter with Siouxsie and the Banshees, Kristin Hersh, Marc Almond and Skunk Anansie, among others. The duo describes their music as "dark, evocative, compelling, hypnotic, unsettling. ... yet strangely beautiful, drawing influences from Shostakovich to the Aphex Twin via Bernard Herrmann."
