Kris Defoort: 'surSoundings' (cd-release)

Solo with sound design

The renowned Belgian jazz pianist Kris Defoort plays a solo on piano, recorder and electronics. In this new musical adventure he wants to surprise himself and the audience with undiscovered timbres, from intimate piano sounds to orchestral eruptions.

Faithful companions Vincent De Bast (sound engineer) and Roel Das (sound designer) accompany him in this experiment. It results in a subtle play with lights and paintings by the famous artist Anne Marcq.

W.E.R.F. Records

This concert takes place in the framework of the 25th anniversary of W.E.R.F. Records. Defoort co-founded the label and released the very first album, his debut album Sketches of Belgium (1993).
