Shuffle. Four bands in the mix / This edition: His Trust Fund, Wasdaman, Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė and Zee Skirts

Discovering the world's immensely varied music collection, there is no starting point? Squat presses the shuffle button for you. On this intimate evening in the Handelsbeurs, four bands will alternately play their songs.

Be carried away through known worlds and other horizons of (new) talent from Ghent or far beyond. The on-duty presenter will guide you in the right direction.

His Trust Fund | poetic songs

Songwriter Philippe François joins His Trust Fund  ;with sweet female voices, delicately interwoven guitar strums and a remarkable rhythmic backbone of double bass and percussion.

They present their first full album The Free Market Loves You (2020), produced by Koen Gisen in the Ghent Studio La Patrie. For fans of Leonard Cohen, Caetano Veloso, Jeff Buckley, and closer to the present, Flying Horseman and Timber Timbre.

Wasdaman | jazz / rock / electronics

With Wasdaman the Ostend jazz pianist Bas Bulteel sees a completely different side. He gathered several band members (Compro Oro, Skordatura, Altertape) for a sound between progressive rock, contemporary jazz and electronics. Their sound is energetic, rhythmic and with clear winks. based on the work of Zappa, King Crimson and the electric period of Miles Davis.

Sea Skirts | alternative pop

Zee Skirts makes alternative pop that is not averse to experimenting with rhythms, sounds and noises. Upon launch, the brand new band immediately released a ten-song album. But who or what they are remains a mystery.

“Zee Skirts is a musician. But also a bond. We are not writers. I'm not a writer either. So there is no biography. We would also have to lie a lot, or at least a little, to make our biography seem impressive. Not that our lives are boring, we do a lot! But no biography. I hope you don't mind.”
