WILLOW

Willow, a six-piece indie-rock band, diligently explores the boundaries between pop and experiment and does so with expertise. The fertile soil of the late '80s is the breeding ground for a fresh green mix of atmospheric riffs, warm synths, cutting drum parts and catchy vocal lines. Willow conquers a place in the head and hips, sometimes wall of sound, sometimes irresistibly grooving. In March 2010, the jury of Humo's Rock Rally awarded the band third place and the audience awarded them the KBC Audience Award.

MO & GRAZZ and band | soul, hip-hop, R&B

"Strange how music can bring people from completely different continents together: Grazz worked his way up in the Belgian hip-hop world decades ago alongside >TLP in the Bruges project Rhyme Cut Core Ultimately, they each went their own way, Grazz released a number of solo albums and founded a big band, consisting of a series of nimble-fingered turntablists. to form an orchestra together by scratching records in the right way. A tour followed and one day the pale boy from Bruges came into contact with the ebony ladies of Zap Mama. There was a certain Monique Harcumfrom the States. It was love at first sight.

GUY VAN NUETEN | classical, electro, rock

Guy Van Nueten built up a strong reputation as a composer and pianist, across all styles. For example, he can be heard as a performer and/or arranger on gold records by rock bands such as dEUS, Admiral Freebee, Tim Vanhamel and Daan. He wrote orchestrations for the Royal Flemish Philharmonic Orchestra for the final concert of the cultural year 'Bruges 2002'. The double CD 'Tom Barman and Guy Van Nueten-Live' for which he wrote and performed piano arrangements, was released throughout Europe and appeared in the top 10 of best CDs of 2003 in various magazines. His style is characterized by a distinct lyricism, an urge for simplicity, influences from pop, renaissance and baroque, use of phase shifting and a creative use of electronics.

MARVELAS SOMETHING| rock, experimental, pop The hip-hop collective Members of Marvelas is no stranger to Ghent. But the core members did not lose all their musical ideas. These ideas only really took shape as Marvelas Something when they were asked to perform monthly in music café Charlatan. The group has 64 songs and improvisations on its repertoire list, ranging from, as they put it themselves, “beautiful to hard, strong to fragile, funny to humorous, red to canary blue”.

The charismatic singer-guitarist Scott McCloud (ex-Girls Against Boys) completes the bill of this Squat with his new band Paramount Styles. He will present his beautiful new acoustic CD 'Heaven's Alright' to the audience, with support from Simon Lenski (cello, DAAU) and Chris Smet (electric guitar, Roadhouse Libra) ).
