Jury & Quill
Jury & Quill is the project of guitarist and songwriter Nick Jury and singer Megan Quill. Nick has lived and worked in Belgium since 1990. He previously played in groups such as 'Rumble Fich', 'Troubleman', 'Grand Theft' and 'Merle and Mabel'. Megan Quill first sought her musical refuge in the United States, but she also landed in Belgium a few years ago. Together they perform acoustic songs, steeped in blues, pop and singer-songwriter influences. They not only play songs from their demo “sitting room sessions”, but also some popular covers. Moreover, you can sing anything with a voice like Quill's. It continues to sound heavenly!
Staircase
Staircase was founded in 1998 by Carl Andries (bass guitar), Kristof Bauwens (drums) and Steven Swinnen (vocals/ guitar). In 2001, the group reached the final of the renowned Emergenza European Festival (Botanique - Brussels), where they immediately won the 'best singer' prize. Their list of wins in rock competitions is impressive. The trio leaves its calling card in every province. In 2003, the group signed a recording contract with the Bruges label BCR. In 2005 the first full album “superorganism” was released, supported by producer Mario Goossens (Triggerfinger, Hooverphonic,...). Staircase knows how to beautifully translate his energy and endless playing pleasure into both fragile songs and devastating rock.
Headphone
In 2001, Ian Marien decided to turn his musical ideas into permanent to cast shape. He gathered three musicians around him and surprised Flanders with beautiful, compelling rock. Think of the unruly nature of Radiohead, the darkness of Nick Cave and the songwriting craftsmanship of Travis. Headphone knows what makes a song a great song: melodies that nestle in the memory, subtle and fresh details, a fascinating voice, the right dose of power and a lot of wonderful melancholy.
