Five bands from the most diverse genres increase the tension by performing their songs alternately and randomly. This dazzling music show is put together by host Dirk Blanchart.
LINE-UP KRAAKPAND 4.8:
CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN| alternative, psychedelic, indie
"Life is fun," says singer Aldo Struyfof the Belgian band Creature with the Atom Brain. His band emerged from a mix of coincidence and boredom, but has now released three albums. Struyf made his mark in various Belgian bands, but has become best known in recent years as the keyboardist of Millionaire, alongside bassist Jan Wygers (Mauro & The Grooms) and guitarist Michiel Van Cleuvenbergen and the drummer of Evil Superstars, Dave Schroyen, also plays.
BETTIE SERVEERT |.alternative, indie
In January 2010, Bettie Serveert's new album Pharmacy of Love, the first album by the Amsterdam band since the semi-acoustic Bare Stripped Naked from 2006 had to sound 'in your face', in the words of guitarist Peter Visser. "After all those theater shows where we mainly played acoustically, we felt a huge need to use the pedals again to kick in."
SOCIÉTÉ ANONYME | soul, funk, rock
A spicy mix of soul, funk and rock that grabs the heart, throat and legs. Société Anonyme finds inspiration in heroes from the 60s and 70s such as Sly and the Family Stone, The Meters but also Prince, Amp Fiddler and The Roots.
SIENNA DAHLEN | jazz
We already saw the Canadian Sienna Dahlen at work at Kraakpand 3.3 in April 2009. She released three full CDs, including her latest jazz album 'Off the Floor… Into the Garden'. She lent her voice to the soundtrack of the Norwegian/Canadian film 'The Danish Poet', which won an Academy Award in 2007.
ROOSBEEF | alternative, pop, Dutch
Bright red hair, striking mouth, with a completely unique view on the course of things, Roos does everything differently. And that stands out. It is a genre in itself. Is it cabaret? She herself says no. Is it pop? She herself says yes. But who cares? Call it what you want. This is fun, like the spiritual creations of Annie M.G. Schmidt and Astrid Lindgren that are.
