LINE-UP SQUARE 4.3

AMARYLLIS: song, indie

Those with a particularly good memory will see Amaryllis (1983) as one of the finalists of the Grand Prix Bart Peeters or even little Annie from the musical of the same name at the KJT. In the spring of 2007, she entered the studio for a few weeks together with producer Reinert D'Haene and drummer Frank Vanweddingen. The result is a sincere and intimate album. About growing, crashing, accepting and getting back up. About looking for the bigger picture and meeting yourself along the way. About a warm heart that is at a crossroads in life. Recognizable themes from all times.

MRS HYDE: pop, indie, alternative

After various musical wanderings such as Humo's Rock Rally and Dranouter, where Mrs Hyde De Morgen played an intriguing set spiced with beautiful songs, the collective around Esther Lybeert and Maarten Flamand decided to seek the spotlight with a debut album in early 2010. The fragile atmosphere that the album exudes is balanced by subtle arrangements, perfectly cast instrumentation and emotional vocals combined with powerful choruses. Mrs Hyde immerses you in pure songs where the polyphonic singing is wrapped around Esther's warm voice like a winter coat. Frank Duchêne is responsible for the production and translates the feeling of authenticity that Mrs Hyde evokes in the listener into a balanced record full of organic pop songs.

FALLING MAN: rock, experimental, psychedelic

Falling Man - the band has been around for just over one year - has already played in the 4AD, Les Ateliers Claus, Micronomics Festival, Charlatan, Kinky Star, and in front of Kapper Denoyelle in Bruges. The band is working on their first EP and plans to eat the world. So, wear your blood with pride.

MILLENNIUMS: roots, rock, jazz

A Unique Roots Big Band Coloring Musics Landscape Situated between World Music and Jazz , the 10-piece band stages a marathon session whenever it plays its fusion of Brass Power, Nortie Funk, Spicy Latino and Sultry Jazz. The combination of styles generates a majestic party where roots reign. A Celebration of Roots and a Culmination of Tastes!

LEKI & THE SWEET MINTS: soul

Universal Belgium MD Patrick Busschotts heard Love Me Another Day and knew instantly that it was the song for Leki. The Sweet Mints, Enicé and Kimberley, bring huge amounts of positive energy to Leki's new project as well as adding a hint of The Supremes to Leki's Diana Ross. The sound of the single and LP are unashamedly inspired by the Motown greats. “In particular I like Smokey Robinson, Martha Reeves, Diana Ross and The Temptations, but I'm also well aware that their music was very much of its time, and that it would be pointless to try and reproduce what they did,” Leki says. “My take on Motown comes from the modern world.”
