At Kraakpandconcerten, Dirk Blanchart takes on the role of host and presenter. In an evening-long show, the groups or artists alternate randomly. They stand together in a semi-circle in the hall and the audience sits between the musicians...
TOM PINTENS (Indie) | THE GO FIND (Indie, Pop, Electronica) | TOM WOLF (Alternative, Pop) | LUC VAN ACKER (Alternative, Industrial, Freestyle) | SCOTT MATTHEW (Acoustic)
Tom PINTENS is no longer unknown to the seasoned music lover. The now defunct Flowers For Breakfast started up in the early 1990s. Pintens was also part of the very first line-up of Think Of One. In 1994 he met Stef Kamil Carlens and became a member of A Beatband, which later became Zita Swoon. Tom's first Dutch-language album was released halfway through 2006. In the Netherlands it is now called 'the Belgian Spinvis'. His new album Winter makes us happy was released in February 2009.
Behind the mysterious name THE GO FIND are the face and voice of Dieter Sermeus. According to the German cult label Morr Music, Dieter has everything it takes to become a lasting indie poster boy, not only because he can handle a guitar and an I-book, but especially because he conjures up stunning pop songs, the dream soundtrack for late-night car rides and intimate parties.
TOM WOLF is a talented singer/songwriter with little desire to repeat himself: his music ranges from minimalist acoustic to large-scale electric and in between influences from film scores from the sixties.
LUC VAN ACKER is the enfant terrible who played in his own country with Front 242 and Arbeid Adelt!, and was part of Shriekback! in London! and in Chicago was one of the original members of The Revolting Cocks!. He was label manager for World Domination (US) and Les enfants terribles (B) and studio manager for Galaxy and Synsound studios. Today he spends the lion's share of his time on producing/mixing and live performances.
In 2008, SCOTT MATTHEW was already in the Handelsbeurs. It was one of the most moving concerts of the year. He was then announced as a luminary who in all his austerity towers above all mediocrity and he lived up to every word of this announcement. It is better to listen to his music immediately than to read about it.
