Kraakpand 2.7 met o.a. Giants of the Air & Jodymoon

Giants of the air

Giants of the air was founded in the late 1990s as a singer-songwriter collective. The band soon evolved into a mix of songs and experiments. The songs are still the beating heart of the music, but the use of synths, samples and extreme bass effects takes them to a higher level. Giants of the air is influenced by groups such as Mercury Rev, Neil Young and Sparklehorse. They have already conquered heaven, now they still have to conquer the Flemish rock audience...

Jodymoon

Jodymoon is the songwriting duo Digna Janssen and Johan Smeets from Maastricht. In the summer of 2005, Digna and Johan, armed with a tape recorder and acoustic guitar, traveled to Sardinia to write new songs together. When they returned home, they started recording their first album 'Look at me, look at me, don't look at me.' Singer Digna's Wurlitzer plays a prominent role and multi-instrumentalist Johan plays on the album in addition to guitar. also bass and drums.

The common thread in Jodymoon's music is a certain melancholy and a 'laid back' groove that can be heard in almost all songs. Johan Smeets: “We often start writing a song in a certain groove or 'feel'. If at some point our heads go up and down spontaneously, we know we are in the right place!” You can be assured that your head will bounce up and down!
