THE JOHN LENNON RIFLE CLUB
The John Lennon Rifle Club is the new band of singerPeter 'Red Zebra' Slabbynck< /strong>. For this punk band he recruited some members of The Sid Vicious Circle and The David Lynch Party. The most striking group member is singer/guitarist Nathalie Van Laecke: a cross over between Chrissie Hynde and Nancy Sinatra. The songs of The John Lennon Rifle Club are a tribute to the music Slabbynck grew up with: Queen, Sweet, The Rubettes, The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Blondie, The Dead Kennedy's, ... Great power.
5DAYBOON
In June 2004, Stefan Goossens gathered five musicians around him to play his music. Janko, Joke, Tim, Jeroen and Ilse jumped on the boat and 5DayBoon was born. 5DayBoon now has a new drummer, Jonathan Callens and a new bassist, Wouter De Muynck.
Describing their music is not easy. 'Melodic pop' doesn't quite cover it and references to musical influences such as Moondog Jr, Sparklehorse and Cohen don't do either. You could call it intimate pop that sets your legs in motion or stays in your head for a whole day. Since 2004, 5DayBoon has performed here and there. Their demos received critical acclaim and were heard on Radio 1. The band is currently working on a third demo.
BRAZZAVILLE
Brazzaville is a six-piece band that produces an exciting, adventurous and above all funky sound. The music is inspired by jazz and funk, afrobeat, rare grooves and the simple life of the 70s. Most compositions were written by Vincent Brijs. In 2007, Brazzaville won the 'Young Jazz Talent Ghent' competition.
