Rheen
Rheen, the group around singer-songwriter Hannelore Bedert, started as a solo project at the end of 2001. Hannelore writes, sings and plays piano, but ultimately collected some musicians around him. Today Rheen consists of Hannelore, Arne Leurentop, Toon Dockx and Hans Dockx.
Hannelore performs as much as possible, both with the group and solo, in English and Dutch, in various places in Belgium and the Netherlands . In June 2005 she won the singer-songwriter final of the NCRV and in January 2006 the singer-songwriter final Songaholic in Tilburg. She is therefore rightly considered a new Belgian talent.
In 2004, Tom Helsen said about Rheen: "Hannelore Bedert is barely 21 and writes and sings beautiful songs. She gets an audience silent in no time. great promise."
Babyjohn
Antwerp-based Babyjohn makes groovy pop songs; a mix of rock and electronica. The group was founded in 2001 by Christophe (vocals) and Dimitri (keyboard) De Beukelaer and Maarten Van Cauwenberghe (guitar, keyboard). They made a demo together and not much later Yannick Daems (drums) and Filip Vandebril (bass) joined the group.
Babyjohn only performed a few times when the fivesome went to Ronda (Spain, Spain) in early December 2001. Málaga) leaves to record their debut "In Flux" in the EnFrente Arte studio and to be the support act there in early 2002 during a Buscemi tour.
From March 2002, Babyjohn has been crisscrossing the Belgian and Dutch club and festival circuit. Their first single "Lost Grooves" was released in September 2002. On October 17, 2002, their long-awaited full-CD "In Flux" was presented to the public. The resulting single "Coast" is well appreciated by the Studio Brussels audience.
Johnny and the Caveman
The Ghent foursome Johnny and the Caveman delivers a solid set in which rock and melodic pop blend effortlessly. The band has been around for just over three years and has come a long way and has featured various musicians. Today the music sounds more "pop" than ever thanks to the line-up consisting of Ikwillem (vocals and keyboards), Bert M. (bass) and Floris (guitar).
With influences such as the Beatles, Joy Division , Pavement and Interpol, a very unique style has emerged in which solid bass lines, ripping guitars, stringing keyboards and danceable drum beats always lead the vocals to a climax.
