The year is 1978. Post-punk rock band Killing Joke is born and seems to have come straight from the depths of the underworld. Original drummer “Big Paul” Ferguson once described Killing Joke's music as “the sound of the earth vomiting”. Frontman Jeremy “Jaz” Coleman shoots straight at everything in his sights. Injustice, powerlessness and frustration run like a common thread through the Killing Joke story. Fat guitars, hard drums, a fulminating frontman. For less you would start to believe that the end of the world is inevitable. The music stands up like an impressive chunk of granite that you simply cannot ignore. Killing Joke remains good for 'heavy' top quality. The group exerted a strong influence on bands such as Nirvana, Metallica, Ministry, Soundgarden and Korn. Do we need to add more to that?
