In May 2006, Kevn Kinney amazed the Handelsbeurs and its audience with a fantastic opener for the Hackensaw Boys concert. We would be crazy not to unleash him on you again in all his glory.
The name Kevn Kinney was once inextricably linked to 'Drivin 'n' Cryin', the legendary group that formed in the late 1990s. The 1980s and early 1990s had enormous success. In 2004 his great solo album “Sun Tangled Angel Revival” was released. Kinney blends folk and rock as if they were never two different genres. The influence of Bob Dylan is undeniable and the music tends towards a healthy mix of Bruce Springsteen, Vic Chesnutt and Dave Alvin.
In 2006 a new album was released, “Comin' round again”. Kinney drops you in a Chevy on a dusty desert road, the seat at a 135° angle, one arm out the window and one hand on the steering wheel. Kinney's big trademark is his husky voice. She gives the songs a yearning, dramatic undertone. Time and again it is exciting to wait and see whether the man makes it to the end of his sentence. Fan of rock, folk, roots or none of these? Kinney makes you bend your knees!
