The concerts of Kaizers Orchestra have the reputation of lasting a lifetime on both the retina and the eardrum. Call it an explosive divide between theater, cabaret and circus, a burst of energy in the form of an extravagant show. Kaizers Orchestra sings in a Norwegian dialect, completely incomprehensible to the average Flemish. The fact that two-thirds of the audience is roaring wildly after five songs gives an idea of the power behind this group. The music contains Tom Waits rock, laced with polka punk, boisterous blues, but above all the enormously stirring enthusiasm of the group. Oil barrels, crowbar, gas mask, ... Nothing is too much for Kaizers Orchestra to turn it into a theatrical spectacle. “We hold our audience hostage until they all go crazy,” says frontman Janove Ottesen. We take him at his word.
