Adventurous energy with Nordic mastery

Belgian pianist Jonas Cambien lives in Oslo, where he has made a name for himself as one of the most exciting voices on the freer side of the Norwegian jazz scene. He returns with his new supergroup Maca Conu - a Scandinavian quintet brimming with imagination and freedom.

With a sound that is as ingenious as it is melodic, they present a mix of sharp, joyful and irrepressibly creative approaches to jazz. Their acclaimed debut (2024, Clean Feed) showcases the versatility of Cambien's compositions and the superb improvisation of his star Scandinavian ensemble.

Opening act: Giovanni Di Domenico – Echolalia

Pianist Giovanni Di Domenico, from Italy and Brussels, presents Echolalia, a compelling three-part suite. Accompanied by soprano saxophonist Alexandra Grimal and drummer Eric Thielemans, Di Domenico creates a soundscape full of layered emotion, subtle friction, and poetic depth.

Echolalia is not a casual listening experience, but rather a mesmerising journey that slowly unfolds. Melody is subordinate to atmosphere and structure to feeling. The result is an intense moment of collective concentration — music as a temporary state of being.
