We no longer have to introduce this quartet to loyal Trade Fair goers, because since we first brought them to Belgium in 2003, they have been our guests every year. Their concerts are of astonishing quality - last season we described the Jerusalem Quartet as a fresh southeasterly wind-force seven in string quartet land, after our new listening experience we would like to describe them as a more than energetic rocking foursome. 2006 will be a Shostakovich year for them: they will perform a complete version of his string quartets at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, London's Wigmore Hall, the Konzerthaus Wien, the Théâtre du Châtelet, the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Gulbenkian Foundation... And today a foretaste in the Handelsbeurs.
