Jane Birkin was the muse and lover of Serge Gainsbourg and became world famous for their duet 'Je t'aime moi non plus'and the controversy that followed. After Gainsbourg's death, Jane stepped out from under the spotlight to focus on writing and her tireless work for humanitarian charities. But at the request of fans, she took up the microphone again and set herself the goal of bringing the Gainsbourg testament to the widest possible audience. And she did that, in the most diverse forms: Serge in pop, arabesque, for classical quartet, with 14 musicians, with 6 musicians, ... She had gotten everything out of it, or so she thought. Until the disaster happened in Japan: the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster that followed affected her so hard that she decided to fly there immediately and do what she excels at: breathing new life into Serge Gainsbourg's repertoire. Within four days, an excellent group of Japanese musicians were mobilized to play with Jane Birkin. They were soon asked to give the concerts elsewhere as well.
