Ivan Sokolov

Ivan Sokolov, pianist, composer, philosopher. Not to be confused with Grigory Sokolov, although both were already guests at the Handelsbeurs – Ivan Sokolov accompanied soprano Elena Vassilieva in a noted devil/angel concert with pop idol Daan. You can almost regard Ivan Sokolov as a brother of Alexei Lubimov: they share the same vision of classical music and have the same passion for contemporary work. Even today, his recital program speaks for itself in this regard: Korndorf's 'Jarilo' also features one of the most monumental piano compositions of the 20th century. For doubters: Ivan was once recruited by Rozhdestvensky himself as a favorite soloist, but stubbornly decided to follow different paths in life.
