BE STIRRED AND INTOXICATED BY VIOLIN AND VIOLA

Poulenc’s violin sonata swings like a lively jazz club in Paris and sings as though you’re drowning in the eyes of your beloved. At the same time it is a poignant commemoration of the death of Federico García Lorca. Afterwards we catch our breath again with Brahms dreamy, melancholic Sonata for Viola in E-flat major. And between the two, Mozart and Schumann tread the golden mean between lyricism and tempestuousness.

Few musicians are able to combine both solo virtuosity as a violinist or viola player and intimate ensemble playing. Our northern neighbour, Isabelle van Keulen, does it very well!
