Ictus: 'Liquid Room #2 '

LIQUID ROOM. FREE SPACE FOR CONTEMPORARY MUSIC 'Liquid Room' is inspired by 'Nuove Sincronie', a special music festival in Milan, organized by Fausto Romitelli and Riccardo Nova. It revolves around contemporary music, but in the atmosphere of a rock festival or an all-night electronic improvisation session: the audience moves freely from one stage to the other, goes in and out - the bar remains open - while the music continues without a break. In true happening style, the hall provides space for a chain of remix, improvisation and creations. For this second edition of 'Liquid Room', which will be in Ghent for the first time, Ictus invites the French electric violin specialist and composer Benjamin de la Fuente. He comes together with his musical sparring partner Eric Echampard, the famous jazz drummer who has made a meteoric career as a sidekick to guitarist Marc Ducret. Furthermore, Japanese soprano Tomoko Taguchi and flautist Chrissy Dimitriou will make an appearance and Ictus member Michael Schmid will take on the role of singer-narrator in The Barstow & The Letter by Harry Partch. The program includes 160 minutes of music by de la Fuente, Mitterer, Matuz, Partch, Reiter, Glass and Mâche.
