Ha'fest: Nils Frahm

The second edition of Ha’fest takes place from 13 to 16 May. Check the Ha'fest line-up.

NILS FRAHM LOST HIS MIND TOUR

Hypnotizing tunes, shimmering compositions, overwhelming beats; Nils Frahms post-classical piano works are equal parts electronic and minimal music. He’s one of the few young composers responsible for the budding reputation of avant-garde label Erased Tapes. As enchanting as his songs are on record, they only come to full fruition in a live setting. Mojo (read the interview), Uncut, Q and Thom Yorke (Radiohead) are fans.

SUPPORT: DAWN OF MIDI

"Who knew a grand piano, a double bass, and a drum kit could actually get people nodding their heads the same way a DJ would?" (Pitchfork) Dawn of Midi might resemble your average jazz trio, yet their sound is much, much more than that. Influenced by electronic music, classics like Glass, Reich and Adams, and even Moroccan polyrhythmic, they deliver minimal music that will get you moving. Their debut album Dysnomia was released in 2013 on the Thirsty Ear label.

This concert takes place in the context of Ha’fest, the music festival (13 - 16 May) in and around Handelsbeurs.
