Gustavo Toker

The tango and the milonga flow like blood through the Argentine veins. Advocates like Gustavo Toker keep these sensual music genres alive. Toker plays the bandoneon, a harmonica-like instrument that is strongly reminiscent of the accordion. It produces a long sigh of melancholic sounds. One of the most famous bandoneon players was composer Astor Piazzolla. He added a dimension to the Argentine tango under the name “tango nuevo”. The basis of this music goes back to classical tango, but its composition and tempo are much more complex. Gustavo Toker is the only musician who knows how to sublimely interpret Piazzolla's improvisations. He masters the extremely difficult to play bandoneon exceptionally well. Precisely because of this he can let the essence of the two music genres penetrate to his audience. So let yourself be engulfed by the fire of the tango and the intense happiness that the milonga carries.
