FOYER MATINEE: ROEL DIELTIENS (CELLO)
300 years of cello in 60 minutes
In this year’s final Foyer Matinee cellist Roel Dieltiens guides us through three centuries of cello literature. Switching from baroque to modern cello, he illustrates de evolution of the cello and, consequently, of cello music, throughout de history of music.
The program includes inter alia music of Domenico Gabrielli, Johann Sebastian Bach, Zoltan Kodaly, George Crumb and Sofia Gubaidulina. In short, an anthology of the best compositions ever written for solo cello. All that explained by a world famous authority in cello music!
This concert is part of Foyer Matinee, a series of aperitif concerts in Handelsbeurs during the flower market every third Sunday of the month.
