Foyer Matinee: Les Timbres (viool en klavecimbel)

Vibrant ‘aperitif concerts’ take place every third Sunday of the month in the Handelsbeurs foyer. A glass of champagne or fruit juice in hand, whole families of music lovers gather around passionate performers of jazz, classical and world music.

When harpsichordist Julien Wolfs asked if a programme of boroque hits would be suitable for a Sunday morning, this could only spark us with enthousiasm. Who could resist the inciting Follia of Corelli or the refreshing Marche pour la Cérémonie des Turcs of Lully? These classical hits are brought to you by the Japanese barok violist Yoko Kawakubo and the Belgian harpsichordist Julien Wolfs, both founders of the chamber music ensemble Les Timbres and member of diverse baroque formations such as Bach Collegium Japan, Gli Incogniti and Ricercar Consort.
