FROM GENESIS TO APOTHEOSIS
With his KV 478, Mozart composed the absolute foundation for the piano quartet: three strings and a piano in a harmonious union. Almost a century later, Brahms and Fauré pushed the boundaries of the line-up to the extreme in some of the finest piano quartets ever written. The Fauré Quartett, well familiar with Handelsbeurs Concert Hall after three earlier visits, brings genesis and apotheosis of the piano quartet together.
