Eva De Roovere & The Whodads

Eva De Roovere performs in Dutch.

She debuted in 2006 with the album De Jager (the Hunter), securing a major hit with the song 'Fantastig Toch'. This song was remixed to 'Slaap Lekker' sometime later, a collaboration with the Dutch rapper Diggy Dex, which made it hit the charts a second time.

The latest album Viert is the fourth cd by Eva De Roovere. She presents it with a tour that obviously pitches its tents in the Handelsbeurs too. The spirits rise even more, due to the accompaniment of The Whodads.

The Whodads consist of some the best musicians that Flanders has to offer. Musicians that played together with Lady Linn, Mark Lanegan, Mauro Pawlowski, Trixie Whitley, Ozark Henry, etc. Their specialties in this formation are surf, mambo, latin and jazz, but most of all: spectacle and rhythm. Swing and style will be the key words tonight.

"De Roovere writes beautiful, introspective singer-songwriter's material, often only light-hearted in appearence, and aims keenly on radio successes with songs like Geen zorgen meer, Dagen van niets and Brekend glas." (Excerpt from Gazet van Antwerpen)
