Quite some time ago, the Alexi Tuomarila Quartet was well on its way to making an international name for itself. Twelve years later, the band has been reborn as Drifter and they’ve still got the fire.

Cellist Erik Friedlander earned his stripes with artists ranging from John Zorn to Alanis Morisette and Courtney Love. He will be playing with his band Oscalypso.

OSCALYPSO features 9 original Pettiford tunes. The record has some of Pettiford's most familiar compositions, like Bohemia After Dark and Tricotism as well as less well known tracks like Cable Car and Cello Again.
