Dirk Mommertz (piano)

The Goldberg Variations BWV 988 by J.S. Bach

A magical toucher

After any performance by the renowned Fauré Quartet, the playing by their pianist Dirk Mommertz often continues to reverberate. It is hard to give the exact reason, but this German has an exceptional ability to conjure a sparkling sound out of the Steinway.

In Bach’s Goldberg Variations he is able to make full use of his transparent and light style.
