THE BAD PLUS, DANS DANS
Ever wondered how rock and pop classics from Nirvana, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, the Pixies and many more would sound when played by a skilled jazz piano trio? Then this is your chance. Some people even consider The Bad Plus rendition better than the original songs, but who are we to judge?
The Bad Plus: Reid Anderson - contrabas; Ethan Iverson - piano; David King - drums
At least as original and talented is Dans Dans, the free jazz, psychedelic blues , rock ‘n roll, drone and tape recorder playground of Flying Horseman frontman Bert Dockx. The result of these acrobatic musical efforts is a true tango of death. Re-inventing classics by Sonny Rollins, Sun Ra and Nick Drake as well as playing its own material, Dans Dans is hailed as “one of the most compelling bands of the moment” by e-magazine Cutting Edge.
Dans Dans: Bert Dockx - guitar; Lyenn - bass; Steven Cassier - drums
