Charlie Hunter Trio

Jazz guitarist Charlie Hunter made his breakthrough in 1992, when he toured with U2 on the legendary 'Zoo Tv Tour' as a member of the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. He made a name for himself as a phenomenal guitarist, with an extraordinary sound and seemingly an unlimited brain-finger connection. But Hunter wanted more and he wanted to do it differently. So he asked lute maker Ralph Novak, of Novax guitars, to build him an eight-string guitar so he could play the bass parts himself. In 2006 he had one string removed. What Hunter did with his guitar, he also does with jazz. He remains wholeheartedly faithful to the genre, but adapts it to his own will in such a way that it becomes completely different. He is now coming to the Handelsbeurs together with pianist Erik Deutsch and drummer Tony Mason. Judge for yourself!
