In 2009, the Flemish composer Luc Brewaeys turns fifty. Champ d'Action takes this opportunity to pay tribute to the composer so close to their hearts with a unique concert. After all, twenty years ago he was one of the founders of the ensemble that has now become a reference in the performance of contemporary music. In a program entirely dedicated to Brewaeys, Champ d'Action plays several ensemble works that the composer wrote for them, and a new piece for cello and electronics, created by Arne Deforce. On the occasion of this birthday concert, Brewaeys is also completing 'Painted Pyramids', a piece for ensemble and electronics that premiered two years ago. Finally, what could not be missed is his composition for solo trumpet, which was performed for the first time in 2005, after having been shelved for years because it was 'unperformable'.
